The Sylvan Lake Historical Committee and the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society are combining efforts to present a historical display of Sylvan Lake and greater West Bloomfield. The display is being presented at the Ferndale Beach “free of charge” for area residents and guests. Included are pictures, articles and artifacts from the turn of the century. Complimentary sugar cookies and lemonade will be distributed by Sylvan Lake’s youth.

***An attachment to this release is of scenic Christmas cards sent to our residents who were serving in the military during WWII. Scroll down and read the letter at the end of the attachment, it is very touching.

The Sylvan Lake Home and Garden Tour has always provided complimentary shuttle vans for our guests who choose not to walk or bike the tour. This year, our drivers are prepared to point out historical landmarks such as the old interurban train depot and provide local history and customs. The vans are courtesy of Panian Chevrolet of Southfield.
